We recently had the pleasure of working on a rebrand for local Asheville restaurant Rosetta’s Kitchen.
As can happen with a homegrown brand that’s been around for years, they had developed lots of different logo versions and other art over time. One goal was to bring a more unified look to the brand while still maintaining its noncorporate brand diversity.
Here is a mood board that was part of our rebrand process for Rosetta’s Kitchen. As part of our discovery sessions, we identified some key elements that we wanted to incorporate into an authentic brand that would resonate with
“Should I say something on social media?” “Should I say something to my clients?” “What do I say to promote my business but not look selfish?” “What if I say the wrong thing?” If you’ve pondered any of these thoughts over the past few months, this event is for you!
With the shift to social distancing, remote working, and self-isolation, COVID-19 has left many business owners wondering if and how they should creatively market their services.
During this Zoom panel discussion, we’ll talk to a group of marketing professionals and local business owners that have addressed marketing in creative ways over the past few months, touching on tactics & approaches businesses can and should use right now.
Last year I was tapped to design the holiday card for the Van Winkle Law Firm.
Interestingly, many of the lawyers are also musicians and each year they record a holiday song. One of the requirements of the brief was that a lot of the members of the firm had to be represented. It was also the 50th anniversary of Sgt Peppers. So I pitched the idea of the holiday card being a “record” that played off of the classic album design. It included a printed insert that had download instructions for listening to their collection of holiday tunes.
This was definitely one of my favorite projects from last year.
Here’s a simple straight all American style logo I did a little while back for my mechanic, crane operator and all around good guy Jeff Dover. A little stars and bars monogram for a stellar client and operational partner.
Times are tough right now and so are we. Let’s design a better future.
We got this!

This was the first sign I designed for @giganticavl when we started teaming up last year. Always fun to play with double sided asymmetry.
It’s taken a little longer than the typical project to fulfill due to permitting hurdles and fabricator foibles. But we got it done and we’re all happy with how it turned out. Shout out to @chukkb for helping save the day with some last minute plasma cutting.
What I love about sign design is the blend of disciplines. Form and function. Architecture, construction, information design, graphic design, way finding, experiential design, typography… They all come together on a project like this. Lots to explore and play with. Never a dull day.
