This week as part of art class, my 7 year old daughter and I designed a logo for tacos together. 🌮. I wanted to show her how to develop an idea from a little rough scribble to something finished through iteration. 📝. So we started with a little post it sketch then I had her draw a big version of the taco and lettering. I had her do a second version of the lettering, putting down some guidelines first. 🔤. Then I broke out the tracing paper and used her taco and letters as the guide to draw something a little more polished. We talked about characterizing it by giving it a face. She wanted to add the speech bubble. 🎨. Then I showed her how to scan that in and use illustrator to vectorize it and add color layers. 🌈. Here is the finished version with my color pallet choices. She didn’t finish hers yet. 🤷‍♂️. We learned alot and had fun in the process.
