Double board break via step behind sidekick. Took some technique adjustment to get through two boards. I wanted to be too close. I now realize the need to take a step further back to create the space to travel and create more velocity. Sometimes we need to take a step back to break through what’s holding us back. This snow day is a good forced hand by nature to do just that.
This weekend I had intended to test for my blue-red belt. But I fell ill and then my wife was sick too and so I had to unexpectedly not show up. Disappointing as the testings are always such great community experiences.
Sometimes the real test is a test of mental and emotional flexibility, patience and handling disappointment with a humble grace. It’s all part of the practice.
